Brett Miller

Brett got his start in the nerdy world by grinding hours upon hours in Runescape 2, which helped him find a love for strategy and problem-solving. This passion for finding a way around a challenge without resorting to a direct attack is a key part of his play style, whether it's finding a creative solution to a tricky situation in D&D or through crafting redstone contraptions in Minecraft.

When he's not busy trying to outwit his opponents, Brett loves to get his hands dirty, both in the digital world and the real one. He enjoys crafting D&D terrain and painting miniatures, bringing his own worlds to life. He also loves to try out new VTTs, always looking for the next great tool to enhance the gaming experience.

Outside of gaming, you can find him tending to his garden, a passion that offers a different kind of creative problem-solving. He brings his unique approach to every project, whether it's growing something new or tackling a difficult encounter.

Phil Boon

Phil is one of the founding members and co-host of the Bards and Barrels podcast. Board games, beer and Magic: The Gathering: these are the factors that ultimately catapulted Phil into a love for all things TTRPG. He's often found in the role of "forever DM" for his group of friends, crafting intricate worlds and challenging narratives.

He also loves to dabble in other TTRPGs, including the mysterious Candela Obscura, the grimdark MÖRK BORG, and the folkloric Vaesen. When he's not guiding adventurers through perilous quests, you'll find him bolstering his status as an amateur craft beer connoisseur. Phil's other passions include a deep dive into all things nerdy: Star Wars, Zelda, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Norse Mythology, video game music, and of course, Magic: The Gathering.

Bards and Barrels is the place where Phil get's to share his love for TTRPGs, one thrilling adventure and refreshing brew at a time.

Ross Struss

Ross Struss is one of the three hosts and co-founders of Bards and Barrels. His journey into D&D started with board games, eventually leading to TTRPGs, where he found a passion for stepping into character and immersing himself in the worlds they build.

No stranger to the mic, Ross honed his skills as a play-by-play announcer and DJ during his time in college. His endless enthusiasm for chatting about the things he loves, makes him a natural podcast host. When he’s not smiting foes as a Paladin, you’ll find him diving into all things nerdy—Star Wars, Magic: The Gathering, Lord of the Rings, and more—not to mention having a craft beer with friends.

Bards and Barrels was born from the simple joy of sitting around, drinks in hand, discussing epic campaigns. What started as casual conversations grew into a show where Ross and his co-hosts share their love for D&D one laugh, story, and critical hit at a time.
